Patient Care Where Kids Actually Have Fun at the Dentist
You do not usually pair the words “fun” and “dentist” in the same sentence. But at our West Little York office in Greater Inwood, that combination is exactly what we aim for at every kid’s appointment.
A patient shared this short but powerful review on Google:
“Excellent service and very patient kids had a lot of fun!”
Two qualities stand out here. Patience from our team, and fun for the kids. Both take real effort to deliver consistently.
Patience Is a Skill, Not a Bonus
Working with kids in a dental chair takes a special kind of patience. Some children open right up. Others need ten minutes of coaxing before they will even sit down. Our hygienists, assistants, and doctors all know how to slow down when a child needs it.
Rushing a nervous kid only makes things worse. So we never do. If a four-year-old needs a break, we take one. If a seven-year-old wants to see the tool before it goes in, we show it. The visit happens at the child’s pace, not ours.
What Makes a Dental Visit “Fun”
Three things, really. A space that feels playful. Staff who treat kids like real people. And some kind of payoff at the end. Our lobby has games and activities. Our team knows how to make kids laugh. And every patient gets a small prize or toothbrush to take home.
It sounds simple, but most dental offices skip these basics. We made them part of our standard operating procedure from day one.
Trained for Kids, Not Just Adults Who Happen to Have Kids
Pediatric dentistry is its own specialty for a reason. Dr. Astani spent two extra years training specifically in pediatric dentistry after dental school, plus another year earning his board certification. That training shows up in how he handles every child who walks in.
This is the difference between a general dentist who sees kids occasionally and a pediatric specialist who works with children every single day.
When Sedation or Anesthesia Is the Better Choice
Some kids cannot handle a regular dental visit, even with patience and fun. Children with severe anxiety, special needs, or extensive treatment plans sometimes benefit from sedation or general anesthesia. We offer both, administered safely by licensed professionals.
For families dealing with those kinds of challenges, our office is one of the few in Houston set up to handle complex pediatric cases under one roof.
If your kid has been avoiding the dentist, let us change that. Our West Little York Road office serves Greater Inwood, Fairbanks, Inwood North, Central Northwest, and the surrounding areas.
